APPOINTMENTS
Patients are seen by appointment only. Appointments for regular physicals, school, daycare and camp entrance examinations or for problems of long duration should be made well in advance. Time is available each day for attention to acute illness and arrangements should be made prior to coming to the office. I separate well children from the sick ones by scheduling and seeing them at different times.
NEWBORN HOSPITAL CARE
Your newborn is seen in the hospital within the first day of life and daily thereafter until discharge. Complete examination and routine tests are followed with a discussion of baby’s progress with the new parents daily. I encourage you to phone us and discuss any concerns you may have after you leave the hospital. Your newborn baby’s first office visit is at about one week of age.
PAYMENT SYSTEMS
Our office accepts many medical insurance plans. Please check with your carrier to confirm coverage for your children and add your newborn to your plan as soon as possible.
We will submit claims directly to the health plan. You are responsible for co-payments, deductibles and services that are not covered. payments for these are expected on the day of service and can be made by cash, check or credit card.
TELEPHONE CONSULTATIONS AND PRESCRIPTIONS
Your questions and problems are dealt with on a priority basis through the course of the day. If my staff are unable to answer your question, I will return the call. Please give your child’s name, age and as much information about the problem as possible and, if necessary, your pharmacy’s phone number.
EMERGENCIES
In the event of an emergency, please contact my office or nurse advice line service (for after hours) before leaving for the office or emergency room. It is best not to use the emergency room for routine medical problems which could be handled during regular office hours. Myself or one of my associates are available on weekend and holiday mornings to see sick children in the office, please call if you feel your child needs to be seen.
